SLUMBER NO MORE!

For all those who really want to help around in making the world a better place to live in, it is high time that the wake-up call is given. Slumber is not a state of deep sleep: it can be a doze or just a shuteye light sleep.

We need every bit of help. To fight against the alarming recklessness that people are in today. And also to spread the message of Universal Love, Brotherhood and Peace.

We need more hands for this. Small acts of Love, even a smile could set into motion a chain of positive vibes. Helping others with your kindness and compassion, motivating, inspiring, caring, sharing – every little good deed counts.

Join in to volunteer or donate or reach out to those near you, create groups where so much collective togetherness can certainly make a big difference. Use every talent you have constructively to lend a helping hand to those less fortunate. Do something, anything…it will add value to your life

So shake yourself up and start from your end – one gesture, one word – let us spread Happiness, Joy and Love around.

Matthew 5:13 of the Bible tells us:

You are the salt of the earth.

Why did Jesus compare His disciples to being the salt of the earth?

Salt has many different uses. First, salt preserves food. Before refrigeration, people salted foods, which made them last significantly longer than they did when left unsalted. Salt also adds flavor to foods. Many foods would be bland and, to some, inedible without salt. So, adding salt makes dishes more palatable.

‘Salt’,  used in various contexts,  metaphorically signifies permanence, loyalty, durability, fidelity, usefulness, value, and purification.

Only those who believed in Jesus, trusted Him and loved Him could radiate the Joy of spreading the Good News about all that He had preached. So, As Preservers, As Flavor-Adders and As Followers, they would be able to convey the essence of all that Jesus stood for. Which was why Jesus had likened all those who loved and followed Him to be the ‘salt of the earth’.

We are the salt of the earth, but there is also a warning in Matthew 5:13 from Jesus: “But if salt loses its taste, how would its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men”. When salt is contaminated it becomes corrosive and poisonous and it has to be thrown out.

If we have allowed disobedience, carelessness and indifference to rule our lives, we have become contaminated salt and have lost our saltiness.

So let’s look for ways to be the real ‘salt of the earth’ in our words and actions, as willed by the Lord.

PRAYER:

To all those dear ones  who want to make a difference to the world. Call upon the Lord and His Grace. May His Presence, hovering upon you, be your reassurance and strength. May all your needs be met and all your loved ones be protected.

Dear Lord, Thank you for looking after all our needs. Help us to look out for the needs of others. May we be helpful in every small or big way that we can. Fill us with Your Grace. In Your Name. Amen.

God bless us all and fill us with His Grace.
