CREATION IN ISOLATION

Covid 19 – a pandemic that has gripped us in the early months of 2020… a period of sudden and drastic changes. Most of us are facing problems in adjusting to seemingly endless and not-too-creative days too. Others are trying to adjust to new schedules of work-from-home. Life has become chaotic. Yet, one relieving factor amidst it all is that – we are all in the same boat the world over.

Going through uncertainty at its peak is no joke. Our bodies and minds do feel the pressure and anxiety, though we are all in the safe precincts of our own homes due to the strict lockdown prescribed. But being at home does not end the struggle of the mind trying to cope up with the alarm bells ringing outside.

Rising deaths, panic setting in, fear surmounting, supplies and essential services on the downtrend, helpless patients – the air stands polluted with the virus. As the pandemic runs amuck, we can only be mute spectators, glued to the visual media for bizzare live updates, all the while trying to keep up our sanity.

‘Social Distancing’

has become a common theme amongst social media feeds and the people at large. So the only option left before us, especially youngsters, is be online. And resort to watching videos, vlog posts, cookery shows, films and the likes.

Having watched a few of these, I suddenly realise the quickness and the alacrity with which people have adapted themselves to staying at home. But yet staying connected with each other through the social media platform.

A  sense of communal harmony, comraderie and hope have started lifting up crestfallen spirits. Some of the creations churned out from the privacy of homes are turning into pieces of art, culture and entertainment. I am simply awed and amazed at the bursting forth of the hidden talents all around me.

So what are the others waiting for? Utilize every moment of your day fruitfully and your talents to create your potential. Bring your communities together through photos, social media feel-good posts, online classes, blogs, vlogs, how-to-series, culinary skills…the list is endless and the options are many. Anything creative to set the ball rolling.

Who knows? By the end of the waiting or lockdown period,.a new arena of creativity might change your future altogether. Might be for the better, or even for the best.

So Do Not Waste Time, ‘Cos There Is No Time To Waste.  Every moment is precious!!
